MPW Supply Chain Consultancy sponsored Bluey, the 1994 Nissan Bluebird in the latest round of the BEERS (Budget Extreme Endurance Racing Series), recently held at Collie Motorplex in Western Australia.
Bluey, driven by Tom Widenbar, Zack Haines, and Mitch Williams started the event strongly, however suffered mechanical difficulties early on day one putting the team on the back foot. After repairing the car and getting back on track, Bluey fought valiantly for the remaining two days before eventually falling victim to mechanical issues 30 minutes from the finish on day two finishing 20th in the 33 car field.

“First event with Tig Bitties racing. Cracking couple of days, and despite some frustrating issues, happy that a team of 2 rookies ans a seasoned car destroyer finished top 20 in a very competitive field.
Car was fantastic in practice and in the morning of day 1, until it developed a slipping clutch. Blueys throttle linkage then decided it had enough and left Zak needing to be towed back to the pits twice. A few cable ties worked long enough until it gave Mitch the same treatment. Some borrowed wire later and we were back on the track.
Day 2 was great, albeit with a very sad clutch that didn’t like anything more than half throttle, until 30 minutes before the end of the day when the diff/box decided to retire.
Thanks to everyone that made it happen, helped us along, and didn’t crash into us during questionable dive bombs.
